Perfect for tightening taps without isolating the water supply
The Jaw Dropper’s adjustable jaws allow users to work on both the pipe union nut and the tap back nut with the
same wrench
In the closed position the bottom half of the jaw acts as a stop when tightening / removing the union nut
When the sliding jaw is dropped, the tap back nut can be tightened without having to turn off the water supply or drain the system. The Jaw Dropper’s slim design ensures maximum accessibility
Great for use on:
- Different jaws at either end of the wrench cover a wide range of nut sizes
User Instructions
- Each Jaw Dropper set has a wrench for use on basin taps and another for use on bath taps.
- Each Jaw Dropper wrench has a different diameter jaw gap size at each end of the wrench. This is to enable them to be used on the majority of nuts available on the market. It is up to the user to decide which end best suits their application.
- To tighten or loosen pipe union nuts, the sliding jaw must be up against the fixed jaw and locked in position with the screw.
- The sliding jaw acts as a ‘stop’ to easily locate Jaw Dropper onto the pipe union nut.
- It is advisable to isolate the water supply and drain the system when carrying out any work on pipe union nuts.
- To tighten or loosen tap back nuts, the sliding jaw must be moved away from the fixed jaw to allow Jaw Dropper to locate onto the tap back nut.
- It is possible to get to the tap back nuts without removing the pipe union nut and pipe.
- When tightening a tap back nut on a tap that has worked loose, it is not always necessary to isolate the water supply and drain the system. However, you may wish to do so for safety.
Tech-Tip
Make sure you are using the correct end of the wrench for your particular application. It should be a snug fit on the fitting being worked on. If it is a loose fit with too much movement then the other end of the wrench should be tried.
